I reviewed I, Matthew Henson a few weeks ago, and while I was digging for information on the author, I realized my shelves were full of her books. Prolific indeed! One of my favorites is Dear Mr Rosenwald, a book that describes the funding and building of schools for African American children in the south. In fact, I like it so much I use it in my Foundations of Education class when I teach about segregated schools.

Thanks so much for all you have done this month to highlight these authors and illustrators. I now have a long list of titles to add to my library.

Wow! I'm floored here, I had no idea Carole's body of work was so extensive. I have four of her books in my personal library, plus Jazz Baby (in which she signed). Go Carole!

Now I've got to have I, Mathew Henson. I hope she will be at TLA this spring so I can get a signed copy.
