The Crazy-Color Summer Reading List

Crazy Quilts has announced its Crazy-Color Summer Reading List.

Recall, that Edi Campbell called for suggestions so that she could create a diverse list of teen reads. Naturally, when I hear diverse I immediately think race. But Edi took it several steps beyond that and chose ten books that touched across race, culture, genre and subject matter.

I’ve listed the books that made the cut, below, but visit Crazy Quilts for a small summary of each book and to see the lovely covers.

Pass the list on to a teen you know and encourage them to write a small review. Edi’s trying to get as many reviews on these books as possible by Labor Day.

I smell a challenge!!!

  1. Hey!
Thanks for helping to share the list! I really hope students are able to find it and to enjoy the great reading fun they’ll have!

  2. I’ve read Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi (Graphic Non-Fiction). Both volumes are good especially enjoyed the first.

Great review of A Wish After Midnight here and I interviewed Zetta here.

I have The Fold by An Na sitting here as I type.
