Tatyana is a celebrated street artist and now the debut illustrator of the picture book biography, Libba – The Magnificent Musical Life of Elizabeth Cotton.

Based on the story written by musician Laura Veirs, Tatyana masterfully evokes the times and musical talent of Libba.

As a young girl, Libba wrote one of her most popular songs, Freight Train. Tatyana’s rendition of Libba sitting above railroad tracks strumming her upside down and backwards guitar pulls the reader in and your fingers itch to search for a live recording. I found one Freight Train. You can also feel through the art Libba’s desire to create music.

Libba – The Magnificent Musical Life of Elizabeth Cotton. earned a starred review: “The message of never giving up on a dream…”-School Library Journal.

As an artist, Tatyana’s work expresses her feelings about the world around her,  the joy as well as the inequities. She has lectured and exhibited from coast to coast. Oklahoma Contemporary in Oklahoma City, her hometown, will exhibit her work from February 22, 2019 – May 19, 2019, with an opening reception on May 21st.
